Astrophotgrapher Jim DeLillo Joins Forces With Kickstarter

Jim DeLillo joins forces with Kickstarter to produce his next great astrophotograph.

YOU can be part of it.
With a donation of as little as $1 the project can acquire the needed funds.

About this project
Using rented time on world class remote telescopes, I will produce my next astrophotography image.

Each image requires multiple exposures, through multiple filters, for many hours of rented exposure time.

After the frames are downloaded from the telescope to the computer additional hours of post-processing through specialized software which stacks the frames to produce the raw image.

Continuing the process, I manipulate the resulting raw image in Photoshop to create the art-worthy color image.

Note: Only Deep Space Objects (Nebula, Galaxies, Star Clusters) will be considered for imaging. Due...

Wolves In New Jersey - New Gallery By Jim DeLillo

Jim DeLillo has created a new gallery of the "Wolves in New Jersey"

http://tinyurl.com/4593m9w

Wolves arent native to New Jersey, but if you know where to look, you are guaranteed a glimpse into their behaviour. Best seen in the winter, when their coats are thick and full, the wolves present themselves as king of the canines. To observe these animals close-up, youll have to follow a winding mountain road up a short distance from I-94.

Look for the camp ground and a burly man with a big bushy white beard, looking much like a wild wolf himself. You can tell he has spent countless years in intimate contact with these magnificent creatures. Dan Bacon has spent over a decade caring for and raising wolves from pups to their final rest. He considers these animals part of his family and is concerned fro their protection. He asks, no demands that visitors give the wolves the respect that they deserve. Taunting, teasing, or trying to touch the wolves will result in...

Rare-earth Filter Used By Photographer Jim DeLillo To Add Enhanced Color To His New Line Of Autumn Cards And Prints At Fine Art America

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

October 30, 2010 -- Oakland, NJ USA - Brilliant reds and yellows pop from these images because of the use of a rare-earth filter.
Jim DeLillo has announced today that he has added new images using this technique to his 'Autumn' gallery at

http://jim-delillo.artistwebsites.com/

These images were recently taken in New Jersey and enhanced using the special on-camera filter to further saturate and beautify the colors of the fall foliage.

The filter is made from Didymium, a mixture of the rare-earth elements praseodymium and neodymium. Filters made from the material selectively block colors while letting other parts of the spectrum through.

The photos added to the gallery include "Liquid Autumn", where DeLillo has composed the photo to include only the reflection in the ripples of a pond.

"I like to look for the unexpected." DeLillo said. "One of the best ways to find a new angle is to look in...

New Jersey IStock Photographer Jim DeLillo Ventures Into Space

Oakland, NJ (PRWEB) March 20, 2009 -- Jim DeLillo an exclusive photographer for iStockphoto (http://www.istockphoto.com/jimd_stock?refnum=jimd_stock) has literally reached for the stars to add a new niche to his portfolio. A resident of Oakland, NJ, DeLillo uses remote telescopes located as far away as New Mexico and Australia to image the heavens.

Objects he photographs may be millions of light-years away. DeLillo subscribes to several services including Lightbuckets.com (http://www.lightbuckets.com) and Global-Rent-Scope.com (http://www.global-rent-a-scope.com).

These facilities rent time on large computer-controlled telescopes under dark skies, areas somewhat protected from the ravages of light pollution. The remote telescope services are available to anyone.

To make his photos, DeLillo logs on to his computer at home, and via a web interface, directs the telescope to the object of interest. He selects the point in the sky, the color of the...
