To see one Eagle is a thrill, so when Boy Scout Troop 53 of Fair Lawn, NJ announced that it had successfully advanced its 100th Eagle Scout, they had to throw a party. On March 19, 2009 Mike Obsuth became the 100th Boy Scout to reach that milestone in Troop 53. National statistics indicate that only 4 out of every hundred scouts attain that rank. So it is a great accomplishment to see so many from one location. Of course, it did not happen overnight, that count is the result of nearly 75 years of nurturing young boys into manhood. The troop graduated its first Eagle Scout, E. Phelan in 1935.
